Adiantum pedatum is a low-growing fern that forms dense clumps of finely divided green fronds with arching, wiry, reddish stems. It is ideal for the front of the border in a shady location. Utterly reliable. It will slowly spread via creeping rhizomes to fill an area. Deer have never bothered it.
