'Stairway to Heaven' is a creeping, mound-forming plant with tiny alternate pinnate variegated green and yellow leaves that form a "ladder" on stems. The termini of stems are adorned with tiny blue bell-shaped flowers in May. In our garden it does not tolerate heat or much direct sun. It seems best in a moist, shady spot at the front of the border. Our plantings have had a spotty overwintering record, so we have removed it from the garden.
